The Afro-Colombian is one of the most important races in the country. It corresponds to 26% of the national population and they have contributed in many aspects of Colombian culture. Despite this, it is one of the most segregated and forgotten races and they live in precarious conditions. This video shows some percentages about the status of these people in the country: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OiGKIO722HA
As we know, the quality of life in Colombia is very low, but for AfroColombians is much more. They have the worst rates of illiteracy, poverty, unemployment, hunger, mortality etc. Colombia is very diverse and black communities made great contributions to the search for its own identity and the consolidation of its culture with food, customs, dancing and others. Because of this, they should be helped and paid instead of being discriminated and abused.
Government and people in general should know that afrodescendientes and raizales are happy and normal as they. Likewise, black people should receive education and employment as the rest of people in the country. Fortunately, in recent years there have been changes in the mentality of the population because of the several movements created by black communities to enforce their rights. But the real change starts from our hearts and depend of us the inclusion of these wonderful people.

Hi Michelina! how are you!
ResponderEliminarheres edwin! jajajjajaja
well i think you have avery good point, black communities have contributed in almost all of the region's culture and tradition, starting with our emblematic carnival. The best costumes and dances have been made and performed by afro-descendents, even things as the joy and the kindness are they contributions..
hope people reconsider and be more respectful with afrocolombians.
Hiii michelina!
ResponderEliminarIm agree when you say that black people should recieve education and jobs like others because they are humans just like everybody and see that they dont have the same opportunities really hurts and make me want to do something about it, and unfortunately the goverment dont do much about it.
Im agree when you say that society has changed his way of thinking, but there is still much to learn. Colombia has to understand that Afro-Colombians should have the same rights like us.
ResponderEliminarit is really a fortune that people is changing their view of the afrodescendents but it is not enought for destroing all the racist thoughts that exist, but it is also the begining of something big, somethig that would change the afrodescedents life for something better
